MINNEAPOLIS – July 10, 2003 – SICK, the global leader in factory and process automation solutions, and VITRONIC, Europe’s leading machine vision company, announce today a joint partnership for the North American market. The addition of VITRONIC’s vision system solutions, the most technologically advanced system available today, will complete SICK’s Automatic Identification offerings. VITRONIC’s offerings will be combined with SICK Auto Ident, which was established in 2002 as a result of the recent acquisitions of LazerData and RVSI-Material Handling Division. These acquisitions significantly enhanced SICK’s market share position in the automatic identification industry with a broad, state-of-the-art products and solutions portfolio including bar code line scanners, omni directional systems, integration software and dimensioning products.
