Provides Rapid, Reliable Code Reading

CAMBRIDGE, Mass - The Value Engineering Alliance, a leading provider of machine vision solutions, announces the addition of another software-only offering, PIATI™_PGP, to its comprehensive PIATI™ family of ECC200 Data Matrix decoding solutions.

PIATI_PGP was developed for organizations and individuals seeking an automatic identification component for Data Matrix decoding software applications. PGP is ideally suited for comprehensive vision application development, as well as implementation environments that include other vision tools and associated functions or serve as the heart of their own fully integrated, stand-alone matrix code readers. While designed to decipher ECC200 Data Matrix codes under fairly decent imaging conditions featuring well-marked codes, PIATI_PGP also delivers solid results under somewhat challenging or less than ideal circumstances.

This trait has earned PGP a reputation as a smart, economical alternative to appreciably higher-priced software products that target especially tough decoding applications.

PIATI_PGP routinely delivers adequate decoding results while operating in an automatic mode that requires no manual setting of parameters. To improve performance under adverse conditions, useful information about relevant codes can be inputted and processed in advance to provide PGP with better quality image data.

Currently available as a Microsoft’ Windows Œ DLL and a Linux library, PIATI_PGP software can be made compatible with other operating systems and implementation platforms of specific interest to prospective licensees. Licensing possibilities include per unit run-time, fixed price volume run-time, and source code options.

Typical applications for PIATI_PGP powered products include the automatic decoding of Data Matrices that have been machine-marked (laserscribed, laserprinted, dotpeened/pinstamped, inkjet printed, electrochemically etched, etc.) on wafers/PCBs/substrates, glass lenses, molds and containers, electronic components and carriers, medical/dental devices and instruments, automotive or aerospace components, direct mail pieces and packaged goods, consistent with identifying, matching, sorting, tracking, or verifying these products as they move through various laboratory, manufacturing or material handling processes.

PIATI_PGP is one of several products in the PIATI (Place It And Trace It?) suite of Data Matrix decoding software and systems available from The Value Engineering Alliance. The suite also includes fully integrated general-purpose products and application/industry-specific appliances.
