Our Company

Vision Components is an innovative manufacturer of intelligent CCD cameras for industrial image processing. In addition to the CCD image sensor, the cameras include all functions of a conventional image processing system (such as frame grabber, video memory, processor, PLC-compatible interfaces, etc.) in a small package. A PC is no longer required.
Vision Components was founded in 1996 and has a world-wide distribution network. More than 25.000 (2003) systems have been sold to customers, including leading international firms such as Siemens, Infineon, Sony, 3M, BMW, Daimler Chrysler, Bosch, GM, GE – just to name a few..

The company's owner and CEO, Michael Engel, is a pioneer in industrial image processing. He has been active as a successful entrepreneur in the Machine Vision industry for nearly 20 years.

Our markets

Our customers are system integrators, OEMs and VARs. The systems are employed mostly in mechanical engineering and in quality control, but also in security equipment.

The main fields of application are measurement technology, quality control and checking (for instance for completeness), sorting and aligned feeding, reading bar codes and 2-D matrix codes. Furthermore OCR and access control (biometrics).


Our Philosophy


Vision Component is specialised in the development and manufacturing of smart cameras. VC also provides the development environment for smart camera programming, including the purpose developed real time operating system VC/RT and our image processing library VC Lib and a number of other development tools.


We want to expand our position as leading smart camera manufacturer, producing a wide range of high quality smart cameras at very competitive prices.
