JUNE 10--Dalsa (Waterloo, Ont., Canada; vfm.dalsa.com/1M28) has released its DALSTAR 1M28-SA CMOS area camera--the first in a series of small-body, stop-action cameras that feature electronic shuttering. "The 1M28 uses a 1-Mpixel CMOS image sensor capable of 27 frames/s at full resolution. The camera features LINLOG, which significantly increases intrascene dynamic range (up to 120 dB). With LINLOG, the camera operates linearly up to a threshold of charge collected, then changes its response to a logarithmic compression. This technology is of particular benefit in applications where there are large differences in brightness, such as welding and traffic management.\r\n

\r\nThe 1M28-SA features global nonrolling shuttering, which greatly reduces image blur by simultaneously exposing the entire pixel array rather than sequencing the exposure line-by-line as is typical of other CMOS devices on the market. The 1M28-SA camera incorporates programmable and diagnostic features that are fully accessible through a Camera Link MDR26 connector.\r\n

\r\nPackaged in a robust, small body, with selectable 8- or 10-bit digitization, the 1M28 can achieve frame rates of more than 100,000 frames/s with windowing and is suitable for electronics-manufacturing inspection, industrial metrology, medical imaging, and traffic management.";0;64;4;"";"Source: http://vsd.pennnet.com";0;"";0;0;0;0;0
