SCHAUMBURG, IL (June 26, 2002)-Omron's new four camera machine vision sensor, used for advanced multiangle applications, is the world's first vision sensor with real-time performance. Its real-time rotation position compensation searches for parts or features located at random angles and positions, while maintaining high production speeds of up to 6,000 parts per minute. With the F250's new Edge Code Technology, positioning can be done with high precision, even with poor image quality, and defect inspection can detect fine scratches, dirt and deformities to allow for ultra-precise detection. Also, Omron's original QUEST Optical Character Recognition and Verification algorithm enhances the detection of printed alphanumeric characters regardless of their shape or size. Therefore, the user does not need to teach the F250 any characters. The QUEST Optical Character Recognition and Verification algorithm uses built-in character libraries to discern multiple characters simultaneously.
"The F250 features a built in Ethernet port, allowing for flexible communications. The F250 also includes a Fine Matching algorithm, which quickly and accurately detects any differences between the registered model and image being measured. This dramatically improved model matching algorithm reveals fine defects on printed labels and graphic patterns that may have gone undetected with standard search algorithms. Expandable memory using standard flash-RAM memory cards of 128Mbytes allows large storage capacity for setup programs and images that can be easily transferred to other F250's or devices such as PCs.\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\nOmron's F250 cameras can be fitted with several different Omron light sources, including several that support Omron's Intelligent Light Source, which enables the user to set and save light intensity and direction during inspection setup routines, allowing for more accurate inspections. Additional Intelligent Light Source LED options from Omron's lighting partner, CCS America, are also available.\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\nThe F250 is ideal for high speed measurement and inspection applications including product or package sorting, pharmaceutical package and lot code/date code inspection, high speed bottle inspection, electronics inspection, random position reference and high speed robotic tool guidance.
