VC Smart Finder update: Enhanced software library for contour-based object recognition Ettlingen – Vision Components’ VC Smart Finder software library has proven itself as a powerful pattern matching tool in various manufacturing applications, e.g. sorting and bulk material recognition. Now, the machine vision expert pre-sents an enhanced version with optimized parameters, which scales objects and reliably matches them with preset patterns irrespective of their distance from the sensor.   Bild: The VC Smart Finder tool ensures reliable object recognition The software allows users to identify structures (e.g. bottle labels or complex components) by means of preset patterns. The real-time program operates with subpixel accuracy: ± 0.1 pixels positioning accuracy, ± 0.3 degrees angle accu-racy. At the same time, VC Smart Finder ensures high-speed processes: at a 640 x 480 pixel resolution, it recognizes between 10 and 100 objects per sec-ond. Irrespective of rotational position, object size or illumination, it matches objects with one or more patterns. Moreover, the software reliably recognizes objects which are up to 80 % occluded. An intuitive, easy-to-use teach-in option allows users to easily include new objects.
